I swear some Shawols get butthurt over the stupidest little things. With other fandoms, we’re fine for the most part (and I say “for the most part” because just look at that fight over the Sherlock tag). But within our own fandom there’s this little cesspool of immature brats that twist everything until it’s deformed and just…wrong.

Key saying he’s not interested in a girl right now does not mean that he isn’t interested in girls at all. Given the context of Shindong’s question (“Are you interested in any girl?”, naturally this is paraphrased) and the nature of Key’s answer (“No”, again paraphrased), that means that at this point in time, Key doesn’t have a girl that he likes. 

Even if it did mean that he doesn’t like girls, who the hell cares? Whether he likes female bits or male bits is his own business, and not anybody else’s. It does not affect his singing, dancing, or rapping ability, and it doesn’t change his personality. You’re saying that if he suddenly announced that he was gay (which is highly unlikely given the reaction towards homosexuals in Korea), it would change your opinion on him or you wouldn’t be his fan anymore? What a sack of shit. 

And Shindong asking the question wasn’t “invading Key’s privacy”, nor did he force Key to answer. At first, Shindong asked Key if he was interested in a girl. Key said no, he wasn’t interested in any among idols. Shindong caught on to his wording and asked if Key had interest in any girl, to which Key again replied no. The topic of love interest is brought up all the time among idols. Key had every right not to answer the question if he didn’t want to. It would have looked a bit strange if he did, but in no way was he forced to answer. Shindong, as a radio host, did what he was supposed to. Radio hosts and other similar programs with interviews are meant to get interesting/embarrassing answers out of idols and celebrities (does everyone not remember the famous, “Does SHINee watch porn?” question that popped up time and time again?). 

How about we, as fans, focus on SHINee’s promotions rather than debating whether Key likes females or males?
